The international TRIERTIUM conference will take place on December 3-5, 2025. The conference programme will feature more than 50 leading philosophers, theologians, scientists, artists, politicians, PhD students and young scholars from around the world. Early bird registration is open and closes on 30 September 2025.
The opening public lecture will be given by Piero Coda, Secretary General of the International Theological Commission and a leading systematic theologian specializing in Trinitarian ontology. Other keynote speakers include former Italian Minister of Culture and prominent political philosopher Rocco Buttiglione, founder of radical orthodoxy John Milbank, Czech political philosopher and public intellectual Michael Hauser, Archbishop Emeritus of Granada Francisco Javier Martínez Fernández, Czech philosopher Lenka Karfíková, american philosopher and theologian Philip Gonzales, and Emmanuel Gabellieri, a French philosopher renowned for his studies on the dialogue between theology and phenomenology. Other well-known scholars and experts from around the world will also be present, bringing insights from contemporary philosophy, theology, art, and the social and natural sciences, including ecology, psychology and artificial intelligence.
The name of the conference, Triertium, is inspired by Jan Amos Comenius’s project of unity of science and art in Trinitarian thinking. The main goal is to connect philosophical and theological reflection on the Trinity with transdisciplinary efforts to achieve a comprehensive synthesis of scientific knowledge and human experience. We will consider whether thinking inspired by the mystery of the Trinity could become the spiritual foundation for the unity of knowledge, freedom, and creativity in contemporary society.
The TRIERTIUM Conference is organized by the TRIERTIUM research group based at the Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic). The Conference will begin on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, in the afternoon and evening (public lecture). On Thursday, 4 December, and Friday, 5 December 2025, there will be a full-day programme including keynote lectures and shorter 20-minute presentations. The Conference will be accompanied by a series of artistic encounters (Václav Kadrnka, Karel Martínek, Dalimil Ševčík) and filmed for Triunity, an art film by Václav Kadrnka reimagining the Trinity and a Trinitarian vision of reality.
